Al-Fadl reported: A woman from the tribe of Khath’am said, “O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man and Allah has obligated him to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, but he cannot ride on the back of a camel.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Perform the Hajj pilgrimage on his behalf.”

عَنْ الْفَضْلِ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمَ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ عَلَيْهِ فَرِيضَةُ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ وَهُوَ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحُجِّي عَنْهُ

وفي رواية أخرى قال حُجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ وَاعْتَمِرْ
